{"id":1354,"date":"2019-11-21T08:28:19","date_gmt":"2019-11-21T02:43:19","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.meromauka.com\/news\/?p=1354"},"modified":"2019-11-21T08:28:21","modified_gmt":"2019-11-21T02:43:21","slug":"nepathya-kick-off-australia-tour-with-a-bang-at-fortitude-music-hall","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.meromauka.com\/news\/nepathya-kick-off-australia-tour-with-a-bang-at-fortitude-music-hall\/","title":{"rendered":"Nepathya kick off Australia tour with a bang at Fortitude Music Hall"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>KATHMANDU:<\/strong>&nbsp;Nepal\u2019s famous folk-rock band, Nepathya, kicked off their fifth Australia tour with an enthralling performance at the newly refurbished Fortitude Music Hall, in Brisbane, on Wednesday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As many as 2,000 Nepalis from all background irrespective of profession and ideology came together to support and participate in Nepathya live concert in Brisbane.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The band kicked off the show with their first recorded song \u2018<em>Aganai Bhari<\/em>\u2018 and from the beginning, the audience went frenzy singing all songs along.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As the show went on, band\u2019s lead singer Amrit Gurung performed their upcoming new song Naina Tala, a song sung by the Nepali Gorkha army, who served during British India period. The song than traversed through other British Gurkha regiments around the world and came to the Nepali settlement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><a href=\"https:\/\/1hu9t72zwflj44abyp2h0pfe-wpengine.netdna-ssl.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/11\/Amrit-Gurung-1.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/1hu9t72zwflj44abyp2h0pfe-wpengine.netdna-ssl.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/11\/Amrit-Gurung-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-627437\"\/><\/a><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Nepathya frontman Amrit Gurung performing during live concert in Brisbane. Photo courtesy: Saurav Katwal<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cI had been hearing this song since my childhood from the retired Gorkhali Lahure uncles,\u201d Amrit Gurung shared explaining the rood of the song.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe are glad to see people from all walks of life and age come together to celebrate Nepali music with us,\u201d Amrit Gurung, band\u2019s lead singer and social activist said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Brisbane show was organised by Mount 8848 Events and the Australia tour is coordinated by Sydney based Nepali Touch. After successfully performing in Brisbane, the band heads to Adelaide where they will rock the audience on November 22.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As usual, Amrit Gurung is accompanied on stage by Dhruba Lama on drums, Suraj Thapa on keyboards, Niraj Gurung on guitars, Subin Shakya on bass guitar and Shanti Raimajhi
